Sara de Luz grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She began her love affair with dance at the age of seven in a folk dance troupe. After years of training in jazz, tap, ballet and modern, she found in flamenco the true expression of her soul. Eva Encinias Sandoval and Pablo Rodarte burned awesome flamenco technique into her being, while guitarist Eric Patterson taught her the secrets of flamenco music. Sara went on to study flamenco in Spain, and stays current with the latest moves when Spain comes to Albuquerque every year in the form of Festival Flamenco. A founding member of Alma Flamenca, Dance España, and Airdance New Mexico, she has performed with Teo Morca as well as other flamenco masters in the U.S. Sara currently teaches at Farfesha Studios and Dance Theatre Southwwest.
